Each year, the Society hosts a variety of training sessions, retreats, celebrations and fundraisers, including our Ozanam Orientation for new Vincentians, Feast Day to honor our volunteers and share in fellowship, the Friends of the Poor Walk to raise funds to support local families in need, and spiritual retreats. Check out our listings below to see what’s on the calendar!
Ozanam Orientations are required for new Vincentians but also serve as a refresher for current Vincentians. At the Orientations, we discuss the Rule, the guidelines of conference activities, how to conduct home visits, and more.
The Diocesan Council holds four or more Ozanam Orientations per year around the Diocese. Unless otherwise noted, the Orientations begin promptly at 9:00 a.m. on Saturdays, with check-in open at 8:30 a.m. Orientations end at 2:00 p.m. An email with logistics and details is typically sent 3-4 days before each event. Online registration opens 60 days months prior to each Orientation. Please RSVP and let us know if you plan to attends.

Friends of the Poor Walk
October 28, 2017 at the Vincentian Family Center
On Saturday, October 28, join us at the Vincentian Family Center and Thrift Store for our Friends of the Poor Walk! We’re raising funds to help provide essential services for those in need at the Vincentian Family Center and Thrift Store, and you can help out by walking a mile in their shoes. We’re honored to announce that our neighbors at McBee Elementary School will be hosting a small walk ideal for families. This year, we’re also expanding our walk to include our very first fall festival! We’re planning some great Halloween and fall fun for the whole family—from last-minute costume ideas at the Thrift Store to pumpkin decorating for the little ones! We’ll be announcing more details as we get closer to the date.
The Friends of the Poor® Walk/Run is a national event coordinated by the Development Team at the National Council of the United States Society of St. Vincent de Paul.
