Each year, the Society hosts a variety of training sessions, retreats, celebrations and fundraisers, including our Ozanam Orientation for new Vincentians, Feast Day to honor our volunteers and share in fellowship, the Friends of the Poor Walk to raise funds to support local families in need, and spiritual retreats. Check out our listings below to see what’s on the calendar!
Ozanam Orientations are required for new Vincentians but also serve as a refresher for current Vincentians. At the Orientations, we discuss the Rule, the guidelines of conference activities, how to conduct home visits, and more.
The Diocesan Council holds four or more Ozanam Orientations per year around the Diocese. Unless otherwise noted, the Orientations begin promptly at 9:00 a.m. on Saturdays, with check-in open at 8:30 a.m. Orientations end at 2:00 p.m. An email with logistics and details is typically sent 3-4 days before each event. Online registration opens 60 days months prior to each Orientation. Please RSVP and let us know if you plan to attends.

Living WELL Aware
On Saturday, February 25, you’re invited to join Dr. Patricia Sulak and Dr. Jeffrey Waxman at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church for Living Well Aware, a wellness education program designed to help participants attain greater physical, emotional, and spiritual well-being.
Dr. Sulak, Dr. Waxman, and St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church generously selected the VFC food pantry to be the recipient of all registration fees. Each registrant will help us feed Central Texas families in need.
To learn more about Dr. Sulak and LWA, visit the website.
Amplify Austin, the city’s annual day of online giving, is an unparalleled opportunity to see how our efforts and the labors of the entire local nonprofit community interconnect to build a more creative, a more supportive, and an overall better Austin. This year’s goal: to raise $9 million for area nonprofits from March 2 at 6:00 pm to March 3 at 6:00 pm.
To celebrate, we’re hosting an open house at the VFC on Thursday, March 2 from 4:00 pm – 7:00 pm! Come spend an evening at the VFC to learn more about our work in north Austin, enjoy a great sale at the Thrift Store, and grab some refreshments. You’ll have a chance to make your gift onsite to support our programs and services.
It is only through the generosity of our donors and the dedication of our incredible volunteers that we can deliver aid to families in need all across Central Texas, and we hope you’ll take part in this incredible day of giving.
Veterans Information Program
In partnership with We Honor Veterans, we’re hosting a Veterans Information Program on Saturday, March 25 from 10:00 am – 3:00 pm at the Vincentian Family Center!
This event will offer a wide array of health and wellness resources for veterans, including massage therapy, aromatherapy, companion animals, and blood pressure screenings. We Honor Vets will also provide computer training, job counseling, and financial counseling to get vets back on their feet. Attendees will also have access to our VFC food pantry and other assistance.
