Special Works |

Through the home visitation, Vincentians discover the multiple needs of the poor. To address these needs, the Society has developed numerous “special works”. Special works are non-parish based programs, which focus on helping people with their special needs.
St. Vincent de Paul Thrift Stores- The stores are a special work of the Society in the United States. The stores are retail operations similar to those of other major department stores. The proceeds from the stores are used to support the Society's work for the poor. Unlike profit-making enterprises, our thrift stores in Austin, Temple, and Bryan rely on the public's generous tax-deductible donations of new and used goods for most of their merchandise.
